What do I do for an accidental Red Alert? Follow
If a Red Alert has just started and the Device User or Account Owner is aware of this, you can cancel the alert and the monitoring service will not dispatch emergency personnel. This must usually be completed in the first 30 seconds after the alert started.
If a Red Alert has started and the Device User is able to say aloud that it is an accidental alert, or the Account Owner can confirm it is an accidental alert when the professional monitoring service calls them, then the monitoring service will not dispatch emergency personnel.
Sometimes, the Account Owner may realize that emergency dispatch is not needed after the professional monitoring service has started an emergency dispatch for a Red Alert. When this happens, the Account Owner can cancel the dispatch by calling +1 (833) 209-2160 and following the operator's instructions.
In many localities, dispatching a false alarm for firefighters or police can carry a fine. These fines are often around $200 and in some areas can be as high as $1500. False alarm dispatches for emergency medical services (EMS) may be subject to similar fines or may carry an ambulance charge.
