"This phone number is already in use" when trying to set up account Follow
Our service identifies users by the combination of their mobile phone number and email address. During account creation, your phone number and email address entries are checked to prevent duplicate accounts.
If you have received and accepted an invite to be a Contact for another person, you have a Contact account. To become a full Account Owner:
- In the Moxee or Emergency Connect App, tap the Sign Up button
- Enter the same mobile phone number and email address where you currently receive a text message and email notifications from other users' alerts
- Continue with the rest of the in-app guidance to finish setup
If you have already set up as an Account Owner on one phone with one device, and you are working to set up a second device with a different phone, you must either create a different Account Owner with a different email address and mobile phone number or log in as the same Account Owner and add a device. All Account Owners and Contacts have a single user account in common for both the Moxee and Emergency Connect systems.
