Help starting the pairing process Follow
Linking and pairing your Moxee Signal connects it to your Moxee account so you can use Cellular Mode. The second part of the device pairing process creates a Bluetooth® pairing in your smartphone so you can use Bluetooth Mode. Here are some things that may not go as expected on the first page of device pairing for your Moxee Signal, and how to resolve each of them.
None of the LEDs on the Moxee Signal lit up after holding down the power button a long time.
The Moxee Signal is most likely out of power. If these instructions do not work, contact Moxee Support through your cellular carrier.
- Plug it in using the provided micro USB cable to the provided power supply or another standard micro USB cable to a standard USB port.
- Wait at least 1 hour; for a full charge, wait 3 hours.
- Start again by pressing the power button on the side of the Moxee Signal for a few seconds, until the Power LED turns on.
- Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions.
The Power LED began blinking instead of turning solid red.
The Moxee Signal was already powered on and has now powered off.
- Wait until all the LEDs turn off.
- Start again by pressing the power button on the side of the Moxee Signal for a few seconds, until the Power LED turns on.
- Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions.
The Connection LED turned red instead of solid green.
Your Moxee Signal was unable to make a cellular connection. A cellular signal and active cell carrier rate plan are required for pairing.
- Hold down the power button on the side of your Moxee Signal until the Power LED begins blinking, then wait for all the LEDs to turn off. Your Signal is now off, and ready to try connecting again.
- Move to an area where you know you have cellular service. This may mean moving outdoors or traveling to another place. Follow the instructions in the Moxee App to begin the pairing process again.
- If step 2 did not resolve the red Connection LED, contact your cellular carrier. Ask them to confirm that your wireless rate plan is correct to support your Moxee Signal's cellular connection, and that you are located in an area with adequate cellular data coverage. When these are both resolved, follow the instructions in the Moxee App to begin the pairing process again.
- If step 3 did not resolve the red Connection LED, contact your cellular carrier for additional troubleshooting.
The Connection LED turned blue instead of solid green.
Your Moxee Signal has connected in Bluetooth Mode, meaning it is already paired to this or another phone that's nearby.
- If you are setting up several Moxee Signals with one phone, you have turned on a Moxee Signal that's already set up. Select a different one and start the process from the beginning with it.
- If you have only one Moxee Signal and you use it with only one phone, you can stop the pairing process now; it was already completed. If you have replaced your only phone recently, continue below.
- If you have one Moxee Signal and want to use it with more than one phone, and you are now setting up the second phone, do this:
- Power off the Moxee Signal by holding down the power button on the side of your Signal until the Power LED begins blinking, then wait for all the LEDs to turn off.
- Find the phone or phones you've already set up. Turn those phones off or open their Bluetooth settings screens and turn off Bluetooth.
- Start again by pressing the power button on the side of the Moxee Signal for a few seconds, until the Power LED turns on.
- Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions.
- If you have only one Moxee Signal and you are changing from using it with one phone to a new, different phone, do this:
- On the old phone
- Power off the Moxee Signal by holding down the power button on the side of your Signal until the Power LED begins blinking, then wait for all the LEDs to turn off.
- On the new phone, start over following the on-screen instructions.
